The award was presented on the opening of the UID degree exhibition and was awarded to Anna-Karin Bergkvist for her conceptual machine for planting trees.
This is the 14th year the award Guldmyran focuses the attention to an exam work that embodies Myra Industriell Design's core values in design.
The criteria for Guldmyran, the golden ant are:
For great courage, creativity, functional innovation, good sense for form and a humble approach. Demonstrably, the laureate has been “busy as an ant”! *Swedish expression, equal to “busy as a bee”
For us at Myra Industriell Design, the Guldmyran award is a way to inspire next year's students as well as ourselves.
The award consists of a golden ant designed by the goldsmith Olle Ohlsson, a smaller sum of money and a place among the previous laureates.
This year's Guldmyra is a system solution that resonates well within another system. It is considerate when it comes to answering urging needs, as well as in its well motivated form decisions. The final product is the result of a spot-on analysis, excellent problem solving and some nicely applied sketching methods that move us.
